Alkane Truck Company is proud to announce its expansion into Mexico with a new dealership representative. The Volvo Ciudad Juarez and Volvo Chihuahua, Mexico, will become the newest exclusive dealership representatives for Alkane’s line of natural gas powered trucks for their respective market areas.

Mr. Steve Rayborn, Vice President of Global Sales for Alkane Truck Company, welcomes the addition of the new international dealerships. “Friendships were created, working agreements were established, and I look forward to working closely with our new dealers from Mexico,” Rayborn says.

The representatives from Mexico recently met with Alkane Truck Company at Triad Services Group in Detroit, Michigan, where the final engineering and durability testing are being performed on the Class 7 propane powered delivery truck. The head engineer for Triad, Bill Dismuke, was on hand to answer the new dealer’s questions and to assist in the inspection of the vehicle’s performance during the test drive.

Mr. Jesus Gonzalez Sr., and Mr. Jesus Gonzales Jr., owners of the Volvo Ciudad Juarez and Volvo Chihuahua dealerships requested and will receive a demo truck, or show vehicle, for their customers in the propane delivery industry. The demo truck will be fitted with a 3,000 Gallon bobtail tank that will be used to dispense propane Autogas for commercial and residential purposes.

Mexico has historically used large amounts of propane for cooking and heating. Alkane Truck Company recognizes the opportunity in introducing and promoting the use of propane powered bobtail trucks to deliver propane rather that diesel or gasoline powered trucks.

The Class 7 propane powered model truck destined for Mexico has impressive capabilities and components The engine is a PSI block 8.8 Liter that produces 565 ft. lb. of torque at 1,500 RPM. The transmission is the Allison 2500 Series 6 speed automatic, and finally, the truck is fueled with the Bi-Phase, durability tested liquid propane fuel system.
